Hey Nerds,
They say the most important part of a book (besides the chapter itself) is the title and the book cover…
I’m must confess:
I’ve spent countless hours obsessing over “The Body Back” cover design.
My creative journey started with the original KNOXX aesthetic featuring Bo 2.0 (two versions).

Then I tried showcasing the final Bo 2.0 design, but it gave off too many superhero/comic book vibes and didn’t highlight the other fascinating characters in the chapter.

So I finally benchmarked from Star Wars Outlaws for the “final design”.
Here’s the Outlaws benchmark:

Here’s The Body Back version:

.
Except, it wasn’t actually the “final-final” cover.
So yeah — then there’s the final, final cover (I think LOL).
Here’s the feedback I received from a reader after letting them see the final tweak of the cover:

The “Cover A” they’re referring to is this one:

Here’s what I realized:
Creating something genuinely immersive and gripping isn’t about perfecting one element—it’s about building a complete world that draws people in.
And the cover has to express the “bigger” world element that makes KNOXX different from the rest…
This mirrors the “cool factor” of “The Body Back” itself.
The chapter doesn’t just focus on Bo Stone’s comeback through proxy technology.
It builds on a small speck of an entire universe where tethering consciousness between bodies is possible, where identities can be stolen, where people in powerful places wield terrifying power, and where characters like X and Allie bring conflict and depth to every scene.
Think about your own favorite chapters—aren’t they the ones that pull you into a fully realized world rather than just showcasing a cool concept or character?
“The Body Back” gives you exactly that: a mind-bending sci-fi thriller where a fallen Hollywood icon gets a second chance at fame and a shot at getting back at those who tried to hurt him in the first place.
It’s not just about the concept—it’s about the richly drawn world and characters that make the concept come alive.
So… what do you think about the cover??
Let me know!
